First Zune HD Commercial

Looks like we’ve got the first Zune HD Commercial already available to view and unlike previous commercials to promote the Zune device, this one actually features it in it and looks pretty stunning too.

  • Hammerstein… what’s this "itouch" you talk about? You’re probably talking about the iPod Touch.

  • Now I agree Apple does alot of gimmicky things however those minor feature updates are additions to a very popular iPod Touch line which is stable and successful. And they are much appreciated by the owners.

-Remember everyone in the mainstream is talking about the IPhone & IPod not the Zune

What I’m arguing is this: There’s no true innovative or groundbreaking features that the Zune HD is bringing to the table except for gimmicks most of which wont be used as much.

The Zune brand isn’t in the same position as the iPod right now, it is a falling brand in search of some sort of revival. Basing your entire comeback plan on a gimmick is a bad idea, they should have taken the time to come up with something truly revolutionary.

When Apple decided to go the next level in terms of PMP and phone they introduced:

-First capacitive touch interface that was incredibly useful- Revolutionary

-First web browser that was actually the closest to the real internet ever on a pmp or phone- Revolutionary

-First great capacitive touch UI that is still being used as a measuring stick for new UI’s- Revolutionary

When Microsoft decided to go to the next level in terms of PMP and Phone they introduce:

-First Hybrid Player on Touch based PMP- evolutionary

-First HDTV output on Touch based PMP- evolutionary

Do you see my point? Microsoft is basically running with another companies innovative advancements without adding anything worthwhile to their own product. How do you expect the Zune HD to get noticed. Everyones going to remember the IPod and IPhone because they created this new portable touch and app store market.

  • yeah but when apple does put an OLED they will claim it as a revolution. When a reporter points out that it is hard to see in direct sunlight. Jobs will say it’s a great game machine. The iLemmings will then buy it by the dozen and proclaim it as the best iPod ever.

  • The thing iPod have that Zune doesn’t have is—–world wide marketing and sales. I live in Europe and Zune Marketplace will arrive this fall to my Xbox and my PC. But we don’t have words about the Zune HD. Witch I think is a little sad, cause it is a fine looking and working machine. And I am a little sceptical about the MP, I mean sure I am happy about the Marketplace and that I can buy my favorite tv-shows. But still it would be much more fun with the Zune HD so I can watch my movies on that one too. I am not saying I disslike the Zune HD, acctuley I want the Zune HD right now!
