Unlock Marketplace in Zune Software 4.0

As with previous versions of the Zune Software, in 4.0 Microsoft limits and hides the  Zune Marketplace from being viewed by those outside of the USA. This is a precautionary measure to ensure the maximum level of Zune goodness is enjoyed by those it was intended for.

ZuneHD Reviewers Guide Leaked

The folks over at pocketnow.com have somehow managed to get their hands on a Zune HD Reviewers Guide, and are kind enough to share their discovery with the rest of the Zune World.

HD movies confirmed on Zune HD

A photo of one of the pamphlets handed out at Best Buy’s Zune HD showings reveal that HD movies are indeed coming to the Zune HD and the Zune Marketplace. The Zune Marketplace currently serves TV Shows, Video Podcasts and Music Videos and it looks as though HD Movies will be added to this with the release of Zune Software 4.0.

Spam! It’s hammertime!

As many of you may already be aware, Darkzune Forums are being hit by quite a bit of spam – averaging 20 new spam threads & posts a day. To fight all of this spam the administrators, myself (Fez) and Aden, have implemented a few new features which we hope will help us to clean up the boards.

Zune HD Available for Pre-order

The Zune HD is now available for pre-order in selected stores, prices and specs have been confirmed and the zune.net Zune HD page updated. The device prices are the same as previous rumours, at $219.99 for Zune HD 16gb and $289.99 for Zune HD 32gb and are now available to pre-order at Amazon.com, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and the Microsoft store.

Zune HD Packaging & Release Date Leaked: September 15th

Zune HD’s Packaging and its release date have been leaked and suprisingly its a little later than we thought, its September 15th. Gizmodo got leaked shots of Zune HD’s packaging and with the Amazons price leak, I’m pretty sure that the Zune HD will release on September 15th at $219.99 and $289.99 for the 16gb and 32gb, respectively.

GDGT: Zune HD Dock & Remote

Engadget were lucky enough not only to get into GDGT in San Francisco but also to snap some photos of the new Zune HD Dock & Remote. The dock was connected to a flat-screen via HDMI at 720p and the remote can be used from your sofa for convenience (just like previous Zune AV packs) while leaving your Zune HD docked.

CNET’s Zune HD hands-on: Sexy

CNET’s hands on with Zune HD has stirred eve more interest with the device looking sexier in every released shot. As most of you will already know the Zune HD will ship this fall (expected September) and will come in two variations: 16gb Black with silver trim and 32gb Silver (chrome) with black trim.
