The official Zune Newsletter has announced that we will be seeing a new Zune Software on September 15th, as well as releasing information on how to win a Zune HD and a link to the audiobook ‘High Fidelity’ for free, courtesy of audible.

According to WinSuperSite the current Zune lineup (thats those without the Zune HD name) will be discontinued in favour of the upcoming (September 15th) Zune HD device. This is suprising since the current Zunes are a popular IPod alternatives – maybe the Zune Team has a suprise ahead?

The folks over at pocketnow.com have somehow managed to get their hands on a Zune HD Reviewers Guide, and are kind enough to share their discovery with the rest of the Zune World.

The Zune Marketplace currently serves TV Shows, Video Podcasts and Music Videos and it looks as though HD Movies will be added to this with the release of Zune Software 4.0.

After Engadget complained on their Engadget HD podcast that the Zune HD wasn’t really HD a listener brought up the fact that the latest Microsoft Expression Encoder 3 includes a few profiles for the Zune HD – one of which outputs HD with Surround Sound for use with the AV Dock.
